Weekend Sat Meals

It’s been a while since I prepared breakfast for the kids. Feel really bad on that.

Supposed to cook Bak Kut Teh as lunch but we went to school open house and lingered around for too long.

Bak kut teh and fried lady’s finger has became dinner instead.

1st time cooking bak kut teh. Added hard boiled egg, shitake mushroom and tou pok. All into pressure cooker with Meat function. Done in 12minutes. Successful, they love it.

Can try to reduce the water to 1.5 liter.

Chili padi, as usual, is a must.

Premium spare ribs and spare ribs super yummy.

Prior to this, I also went for coffee with hubby and had our favourite steam bun from ya kun. Feeling sinful for eating so much.

Nevermind, tomorrow 34km. Keeping my finger cross that I can make it.

Weekend Brunch at Yum Cha @Chinatown

Guess it’s not only me who always constantly looking for places to satisfy both kids and ourselves, as well as keeping the kids aways from gadgets.

Its weekend again. As usual, the hardest thing is always to decide on where to eat and what to eat. Glad that this time round, renee has her idea. It’s in her bucket list to eat at this place, Yum Cha at Chinatown.

Omg. Why not?

I don’t need to scratch my head to decide πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Come on, what else is in your bucket list. Just name it and I’ll follow. So happy 😊

Anyway, we finally recalled that we have been here many many years back with my mom.

Overall, we love this place coz of its traditional setups, with people from young to old chatting noisily 😊

Happy to have meal together as a family, regardless. Thanks for always believing with mommy. Lovely 😍

Weekday dinner – creamy pasta

Didn’t expect a Monday can be so perfect. Instead of our usual boring when we all do our own stuff after dinner, today we had something more meaningful.

Indulged my kids with one of their Favourite creamy pasta – one of Ryan’s Favourite. Sided with meatball and brocolli. Chef is of course me. Break my usual poached egg, baked salmon or backed fillet chicken sides.

Feeling most blessed seeing them overwhelmed and eagerly requested for more 😊 Followed by Kiwi To complete our dinner balance diet:

And tonight I bought 5 Ritter Sport chocolate. Good deal from ChocSpot; 5 for $11. Hence indulged ourselves starting from Dark whole hazelnut today:

Kids must be too bored after staying at home whole day Long and after dinner and dessert, they went to search for some board game. Came out with the almost-being-forgotten, Scrabble from the cupboard. Holding a Scrabble box on his hand, Ryan exclaimed, ‘why not lets starts some family bonding time Mommy?’:
The way we ended it:

Snacks For Holiday stay at home kids

Kids asked, “can buy biscuits snacks coz house completely run out of snacks.”

Stepped into NTUC and we were all spoilt by choices. Looked for discount items and very quickly we grabbed these:

πŸ¬πŸ°πŸ‘ wonder how Long all these can last πŸ€”

I considered this as a treat to my both sweeties who most time staying at home on this holiday season.

Deepavali 2015 Holiday

Deepavali holiday

My long awaited holiday finally arrived, a confirmed ‘Rest Day’ when kids will not have any tuition, no Swimming, no anything and even my ‘alarm clock’ was allowed to rest. I especially treasured this break since my extremely engaged work-hours last weekend.

Started our day with a MacDonald’s treats with a friend and her family. 2 Foosball match for the kids.

Ryan has requested us to try out his Berries Oat Biscuit recipe. Do not want to disappoint him, we went to NTUC, grabbed Rolled Oats and immediately they started to bake when they were back at home. I was a simple recipe and yes, the 2 kids did it without my assistance:

Attending Angie’s Son wedding dinner at Sheraton Hotel near Newton. Prior to this, we went to shop in Orchard. Remember Ryan asking me, ‘Mommy, how come I feel like everyone is like acting COOL!’ Perhaps he is right and perhaps more obvious at Orchard area πŸ˜”

All nicely dressed 😜 so snap few more picture.

How I wish Everyday is as fruitful as today.

Pineapple Cherry Cake by Renee

Pineapple Cherry Cake by Renee

Reached home and 1st thing I asked was β€˜Renee, how was your cake today? ’ β€˜It was very nice!’, she yield from the room. Knowing it must be in the in the container she brought to school, I slowly opened & took a few pictures of it.

Not so much on how the cake taste but the happiness feeling when seeing Renee imposed satisfying feeling on her cake and asked me, β€˜smell it, nice right?’. The confident she imposed when she asked me, β€˜looks nice right?’, makes my day.

But the cake indeed taste GREAT!

After their dinner prepared by me, they ate the cake. ‘Yummy! Nice!’. Both took 2 pieces πŸ™‚ Pending for the recipe from Renee.

How I hope that dessert and cakes would not make us FAT πŸ™‚

Weekend Lunch – Risotto with baked chicken

Risotto with baked chicken

Decided to indulge my lovely family with minced meat rissoto. Cooked with half bottle of left over carbornara sauce. It takes a while for risotto rice to fully cook – true and that’s why risotto is never my weekday menu πŸ™‚

Today I sided the rissoto with:

– bake fillet chicken marinated with bibigo and teriyaki sauce. Topped with basil Italian spice and some cheese. Into fryer for 10min at 160degree.

– steam french bean.

– poached egg. Glad that my husband and kids loved it.
